Efrain Perini has a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Sao Paulo State University. In 2017, he participated in the 4th WNU School on Radiation Technologies. Lead by inspiring lecturers and mentors, he forged networks and reached his research goals within his Networks for Innovations in Nuclear Applications (NINA), which was published by the World Nuclear Association and in the Current Radiopharmaceuticals Journal “Pre-feasibility Study for Establishing Radioisotope and Radiopharmaceutical Production Facilities in Developing Countries”.

Eight months after the RT School, he was appointed the Head of the Radiopharmacy Centre of IPEN/CNEN, which supplies 90% of the radiopharmaceuticals used in Brazil. Collaborating cross-functionally to meet organizational goals, as well as providing valued and innovative leadership to deliver results in a challenging public organization environment - which impacts the healthcare and distribution of life-saving radiopharmaceuticals for millions of people – is a constant source of enthusiasm for him.

Upon graduation, he worked as Product R&D at the Navy Technological Center in São Paulo (CTMSP) for the nuclear fuel cycle. In 2010, he joined the Brazilian National Nuclear Energy Commission (CNEN) and since then he has been assigned to the Nuclear and Energy Research Institute (IPEN) to work at the Radiopharmacy Center as co-manager of Infrastructure and Project Manager and have managed Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) facility renovations programme with the Brazilian Health Ministry.
