As the world speeds up its response to the COVID-19 pandemic, many people find themselves at a quiet time marked by uncertainty. This is a good moment to sharpen our minds and to maintain normality through staying engaged in industry developments and current affairs.

World Nuclear Association has published an information paper on COVID-19 Coronavirus and Nuclear Energy, which serves as a good overview of the role of nuclear energy in the current environment, and the management of the impacts of COVID-19 on all areas of nuclear industry operations. This is the latest addition to their collection of information papers, which are a great resource for any interested individual.

Additionally, with the new  dedicated section on World Nuclear News, you can keep up to date with coronavirus-related developments in the nuclear sector across the world - including protective measures being taken, technological developments, and industry insights. Agneta Rising, Director-General of World Nuclear Association, had published an excellent viewpoint in this section regarding the position and actions of the nuclear power sector in the fight against coronavirus, and urging us not to “lose sight of the great need to continue the transition to a clean energy system, not only because of the huge impact of climate change on our global environment, but also because of the immediate harm caused by air pollution”.

World Nuclear University remains open for any questions you may have, and you are welcome to contact us.
