World Nuclear University is bringing its commitment to sustainability to its events!

The United Nation's 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership to reach a sustainable future for people and the planet. Energy is an important factor in many of these goals, and as it stands, 80% of the world’s population would benefit from enhanced health, educational standards, and general wellbeing by consuming more energy. The energy sector is responsible for about three quarters of all greenhouse gas emissions, and as such, fundamentally de-carbonising it is the single most important step a country can take towards combating climate change. Nuclear energy is a proven low-carbon solution with a long and well-established track record, and WNU is proud to contribute to the development of this sector through programmes and courses.

To complement our core belief in sustainability, we are delighted to announce our new green guidelines for attending WNU programmes. We invite you to read them for inspiration and to reflect on how you or your organisation can also play a role in reducing waste and promoting environmentally-friendly actions. If you will be attending a WNU programme, we encourage you to join us in following these guidelines.
