Leningrad NPP was the first plant in Russia with RBMK-1000 reactors installed, with construction of the four reactors beginning in 1967. It is currently being replaced with four VVER-1200 generation 3+ reactors, the first of which started-up on March 9, 2018. This project is known as Leningrad NPP-2, and we are excited to announce that a technical tour of this vanguard technology will take place during the WNU Extended Leadership Development Workshop, in collaboration with Rosatom.

The Extended Leadership Development Workshop is open to Summer Institute Alumni, solidifying the Alumni network and building upon the foundations laid down at the Summer Institute. The next ELD Workshop will be held in St. Petersburg from 17-20 May 2020. The Workshop is organised by Summer Institute Alumni with parallel workshops and a plenary session, in addition to the technical tour and other activities. We are looking forward to what will be a lively and enlightening programme!
