FIRST SUMMER INSTITUTE ALUMNI ASSEMBLY

28 - 29 - 30 March 2012 - IAEA Headquarters, Vienna

The First WNU Summer Institute Alumni Assembly will be held in Vienna at the IAEA Headquarters on 28 - 29 - 30 of March 2012.

The Assembly will be open to WNU SI Alumni only and will provide a dedicated 2 day programme, preceded by a one day technical visit on 28 March 2012.  The Assembly will be free to attend, but we regret to say that Alumni will have to cover their own transport, accommodation and food. No IAEA support will be available.

The registration form can be found here and need to be submitted via e-mail by 04 March 2012.

The programme will be composed predominantly of Alumni presentations, the format will be in the style of a TED conference. The programme is almost complete, but if you have not yet registered because you are unable to get funding to attend without giving a presentation, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

There will also be an additional event prior to the WNU Asembly. It is a workshop organized by the Partnership for Nuclear Security titled “A Leader’s Role in Nuclear Safety, Security and Safeguards Best Practices”, which will take place on Tuesday 27 March 2012 at the Arcotel Kaiserwasser (Wagramerstrasse 8, A-1220 Vienna, which is directly across the street from the Vienna International Centre - IAEA headquarters). It will be led by international experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the World Institute for Nuclear Security (WINS). You can find more information here.

We envisage offering a number of social events in association with the Assembly. The WNA will sponsor a Farewell dinner on Friday 30th at the Zur Alten Kaisermühle. We hope to find sponsorship for a Welcome Reception on Wednesday evening too and perhaps other networking opportunities to ensure the effective networking of Alumni across the years. If your company might be interesting in sponsoring an event, please let us know.  We are happy to discuss different options.

The provisional programme can be found here. The Technical Tour planned for Wednesday 27th is still being finalized and unfortunately lunches and coffee breaks will not be provided, but there will be a cafeteria.

We hope to see a lot of you in Vienna next year, to meet back up at the First WNU Summer Institute Alumni Assembly.
