Introduction

The World Nuclear University is a partnership, chartered as a not-for-profit organisation and committed to enhancing international education and leadership in the peaceful applications of nuclear science and technology. WNU activities are organized and led by the London-based WNU Coordinating Centre (WNUCC), which is supported administratively by the WNA.

WNU programmes are intended to complement existing institutions of nuclear learning by filling unmet educational and training needs on the international level.  These programmes are designed to capitalize on the WNU’s strength as a partnership that draws on support from industry, governments and academia.

To date, WNU programmes have focused on building nuclear leadership and providing orientation on the main issues that affect the global nuclear industry today.

As of September 2010, over 2000 nuclear professionals and students from over 60 countries have participated in such programmes.
